Kindergarten (NEW TEACHER)

(The following message is/was programmed to be sent as an “Instant Alert” call and email to all of Mrs. Feldt’s Kindergarten families at 6:00pm on Monday, August 27th.  This online copy serves as a reference and as an additional mode to share this with families in the hopes of catching as many as possible.)

Good evening!  My name is Sean Martinson and I’m the new Principal at Murphy Elementary School.  As some of you may have heard, long time Murphy 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Iaizzo retired this summer so I am calling tonight to update you on the hiring processes at Murphy.

You may be asking yourself why you are getting this call.  Your child’s Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Feldt has been hired to fill the 2nd grade vacancy.  So I am calling you to update you on the process of filling our Kindergarten opening.

We will be interviewing candidates for the Kindergarten opening and will have the name of your child’s teacher to you by the end of this week.

As a parent I know that this can come at a difficult time as your child gets ready for Kindergarten.  My second child, Ryan, is starting Kindergarten this year.  I want you to know that we will find the best candidate for your child and have that name to you as soon as possible and to you before the end of the week.  I will use this same system of automated calls and emails as it is the quickest system we have available to contact all families.

I spoke to a parent earlier today and I feel comfortable sharing the same comments with you.  In going in to the hiring process we will hire the best candidate for your child and at the same time look for some of the same qualities that made Mrs. Feldt an excellent Kindergarten teacher.  So although your child won’t have Mrs. Feldt this year, I am comfortable saying that we will hire an excellent replacement with some of the very same qualities.

I know Mrs. Feldt, although happy to get the opportunity to teach 2nd grade was sad that she wouldn’t get the chance to work with your child this year, but who knows she may just see you down the road in 2nd grade.

If I haven’t met you before I can’t wait to meet you, and for those I may already know, I can’t wait to see you again!

Have a great remainder of your summer and I’ll see you next week!
