I wanted to let you know about Jumpstart’s Read for the Record, a national campaign to set a world record for the number of adults and children reading the same book on the same day!
Today, October 7, Cohasset be joined Jumpstart to reach more than 2.5 MILLION children by reading “The Snowy Day” by Ezra Jack Keats.
During morning announcements Mr. Martinson read the book over the loud speaker. Although most classrooms have a hard copy of the book “The Snowy Day”, classrooms followed along using their interactive white board (Smart Board, STAR Board). This year, the book can be read online by visiting http://www.readfortherecord.org and clicking on “prepare to read” and then “read the book online”.
This will actually take you to a site called “We Give Books” (http://www.wegivebooks.org/readforrecord). You may find this site of interest. Thank you to Kirsten Snow for sharing this.
🙂
Mr. M.
